Default Please Help: Possible Transmission Problem (picture)

I changed the pump seal on my transmission today. To be honest I'm not sure if I caused this or if it was already there. Is this hole going to definitely cause a problem? It looks like it would allow the fluid to flow out, but the seal may contain it.

After Installing the new seal

Thanks,
Brandon

I forgot to ad that I installed the outside diameter dry, without adding any sealing substances.

The hole you see is for fluid return, it's supposed to be there.

Seals with a painted/coated outer shell do not require additional sealers.

Oh man, thank you for that good news. That's a relief, you made my night.
