Default Blown 4 cyl engine pics

BILL BOWMANI and Screamingchief and the rest of the 4 cyl clan, I took a couple pictures of my motor, I hope you can see them OK. It sure would be nice to have an IA-II block to make even more horsepower, but I guess ALL PONTIAC is making enough money on the V-8 guy's, besides, 4 cyl's don't go fast or do they ? hehehe Bill, I took a couple of pic's of the intake too. Will put that on the part's section. Screamingchief, I hope you can see how the starter is mounted. If not let me know and I will try to get better pic's.

Between your pics and the ones I had from white warrior with his standard trans set-up I have pretty much had any questions I had on that answered fully, thanks guys!

The trans part of the deal really was'nt the part I was unsure about ,that part was pretty much cut and dried, just wondered how you guys were hanging starters on 'em,and ya'lls solution is kinda along the lines of what I figured it would take, but its ALWAYS easier to do something if you have seen it done before and have some idea about what needed to be done.

I've had several ideas for almost as many years (I've got the one I have about 5 years ago) as far as what I plan to do with mine, likely it will end up in a rat rod type deal with some interesting features besides just the mill in it.

Thinking about picking up one or two more to keep around for the hell of it,if I can find the spare space and $$$ to do so,I just think they are a cool little motor myself, and they are just begining to gain some interest from the masses of those previously unfamiliar with them.

A race only deal would be fun...

Because it's built for dirt drags, and I'm sure because it's pretty light too.

Rusty4cyl. will have to fill you in there,I do remember they run somewhat shorter distances the asphalt drags do.

misterp 266 I run a Jeep because I run dirt and sand drag's, and to run them it has to be four wheel drive. grandville 455 I run the lenght of a foot ball field 100 yds So far I ran 4.2 sec. I just put the Wide port Edelbrock head on, Would like to get into the 3 sec range before I get too old. heheh Bud Lyons No this isn't the Lamp Lighter. I am not sure who has it now Yentl Marmelstein. Yes we are both going to race at Kempton next year, The blower is 10% underdriven, but still has 18 lb boost. I have other pullies, but want to run Edelbrock head a little before turning up the boost. The cap on the mag is a V-8 cap from a Ford, I cut every other terminal off to make it a 4 cyl cap. Stop by at Kempton next year, will be great to see you.

For Half or equal HP, I suppose the PMD 4-CYLs Mains don't split up to the cam often.

Bill, How close are you to the Air Force base. There is a 4x4 race about 5 miles from there on Memorial day weekend. Half-inch stud, I know when I had the boost at 22 lbs I put the crank out the bottum, along with the trans, and convertor. I did save the top half though. We need an IA-II block, but I guess ALL PONTIAC isn't concerned with 4 cyl's.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill, Yes I am talking about Dover AFB. The race track is about 7 to 10 miles south in Frederica. It is about 300 yds off of Route 1. If you are interested, I will let you know more when Memorial Day weekend get's closer.

SlowSpitzer Yes I do go to Gravelrama in Ohio. I have been going there every year since 1984. My Jeep was on the Gravelrama shirt in 2004.

Bill Bowman1 I use a Fisher balancer from a V-8 on my motor. I am not sure if they are still in business or not. The Fisher has a steel hub that the bottum pulley bolt's right up to. I don't run any other belt's except for the fuel pump. THANK'S

SlowSpitzer, Your right, that hill is awesome. I didn't run good in 04 or 05, but have since gotten it to run much better. I hope you plan on going next year, If you do stop by and we'll shoot the bull. THANK'S
