Arrow Aww Nuts

The paint is beautiful (ok some minor flaws) and she is coming together faster than I expected, but I'm finding myself doing double work.

First thing I started was the wiring when she came home and I routed the wires to be sure that I had enough with the Painless kit. I then pulled the wires through good solid chafe guard in the engine bay and clamped them down. I was quite pleased with the outcome...until Saturday morning.

I am so used to setting up Buick engine bays that the first thing I noticed was I ran all the "on-engine" to the front of the block and spent two hours pulling wires back out of the looms to re-route to the rear of the block.

I also noticed that the kit did not contain the wire for wipers...yep going to give the company a thumbs down on that .

Luckily the set-up did include a power windows and locks, which will be used for the wipers and power top...thumbs up here.

Second thing I noticed when I was dragging wires around is I forgot to install the blower motor.
I don't have a clue how to do it now with the fender installed and both halves of the heater bolted/glued in short of taking the inner fender out

So I offer this bit of advice to anyone doing any project take your time
I'm going to be an old man when I finish this lady and doing something twice is making me older still

If the motor is out, then removing the inner fender is not terribly hard. If the motor is in, it's tougher. If you have not done it, now's the time to install a new blower motor also.

I tend to do things twice also, glad I have company.

Plum Crazy...I'm assuming you have a non A/C car? On an A/C car, it is possible to put the blower motor in with everything assembled. But I understand if it's non A/C. The inner fender will come out fairly easily. If everything is all painted, then I would suggest masking everything around it, because it is tricky and stuff will get scratched.

I even put my inner/outer heater box in with the fender on (I didn't plan it this way, but it worked out in the end). I had it together & found that two of the studs were broke, so I had to pull it apart. I left the evaporator in, though. The sheetmetal was already on & lined up, and the engine was installed, so I let the bodyman have the car without the inner & outer box's. When I got the car back, it was a little tricky to put it together, but it all fit well.

Thanks Todd, I figured I would have to drop the inner fender to get to the hole...looks like it's going to be a long Saturday (with the support group meeting for "Do-Overs" and all ).

I too have plenty of do-overs on this car. I got mine in boxes to start with, though.
