Default 1971 455 HO

So bit of a delima I have and would like some input from the experts as I am just a dabbler.
Not long ago I purchased a decent roller 1971 GTO, no engine obviously. I wanted to stay period correct so I located a 1971 455 HO engine that was supposedly rebuilt and ready to go which turned out to not be the case. It needed a complete rebuild so I sent it to Randy at High performance Injuns. He gave it the business (specs in attached photo), broke it in for me on the stand and I picked it up. Should be a great moderate power powerplant.
Shortly after sending the engine to Randy the skys parted, the planets aligned and I found the original numbers matching engine to my GTO. This is something that never seems to happen and is incredible luck. I dropped this one of to Randy as well and he is currently building it for the car.
I no longer have an immediate need for the engine but of course it is not eating anything else at this point. The bad part is I am right around 14k into this thing and I am not sure I could recoup this amount to get my money back. The engine is ready to drop in except carb and distributor (could let the msd setup that was used for break in if someone wanted it for cost) with a set of new reproduction ram air cast headers for it.
Try to sell it and recoup my money or is that a pipe dream? If they do not pull what I have in it then I can always wrap it up and save it in case something else comes along down the road. TIA

Not likely to recoup the money you have into it.

I would have just run the non-numbers engine and preserved the original engine in a corner of the garage.

Thank you. I am already storing too many numbers matching engines for the same reason. This 71 is just for short local runs and not getting beat on so I am confident in Randy's work. I have other options that are much better suited to the hard running part.
