Wow. You are welcome, guys.

That's a set of experimental tail lamps that me and Steve are looking at. Handmade, out of Pontiac engineering.

I see why you are asking now; yes - the county park where we meet also hosts the 4H fair.

Reminds me of a story: I was working with a friend of mine on the GMT800 air induction system. Around about that time he was thinking of building a barn and was looking at different architectural styles, trying to decide what he wanted it to look like.

We had to walk over to talk to one of the other engineers, a young lady, who evidently had horses, judging from the number of framed photographs she had sitting on and around her desk.

Tom asked her "are these your horses?".

She answered to the affirmative and launched into a long narrative about each one. Obviously she was pretty proud.

Without missing a beat, and without prompting, both me and Tom responded in unison: "Nice barn".

(lol)

Man, that very first photo, the GP with the hood down, is a ringer for Mr McKellar's.

Seems that I remember something unscrupulous about Mac's car and/or the OHC engine for sale, sometime back.

Keith, you hear anything about Mac's car....lately???? Just curious...

Thx for posting the pics!
I had a graduation to go to this past Saturday, so couldn't make it out to this.
Disappointing to see the light turnout. I remember when I first moved to Michigan 30 or so years ago, the POCI Spring Dust Off was held at the PMD Headquarters in Pontiac. It was a very large show... hundreds of cars, with people coming from multiple states.

The one with the hood down is mine, which is black. Mac's car was Nocturne blue. Besides the 421 engine, Mac also had 15" wheels on his car, and a '64 interior (complete with a GTO wood steering wheel).

2008 photo

The car next to me is Jim Larson's '63, which IS Nocturne Blue. He added the aluminum wheels recently and is trying out a red pinstripe to see how he likes it.

Your recollection about Mac's car is correct. The car was sold after his passing to somebody out east, like Connecticut or somewhere, and I believe may have been sold again since then.
