So... this past Saturday I swapped the trans pan with a new one that came in black... I prefer anything over black paint wise, so left over Pontiac blue it is... joined the engine and trans together and a baby 3000 converter and into the frame rails it went... the only thing I had to do was pull the rear transmission mount and even with the starter, it went right in.... Even with the Moroso 7qt oil pan and all... no paint chips either.... the headers still need to be recoated so I’m holding off on those... I also need a trans cable bracket that mounts to the pan for a TH-400 if anyone has one laying around... Inline Tube has them if not...

You will see the build theme start to come together on this one as it progresses...

Not much has happened. Moved into this place 3 years ago and I still haven’t finished off and heated this space, it’s been awfully difficult to get myself out here in 5-10 degree weather we’ve been having here lately.
I did get the stainless brake lines in and discovered a major interference with the proportioning valve and the DOUGS headers. So, I removed the block from the frame bracket and very slowly worked the junction block up and a bit forward to the top side of the frame rail. Looks like it might clear, just have to test fit the steering column to be certain. I also will have to go with a smaller diameter vacuum booster. The current factory booster contacts the valve cover.

Nice to see your back to this project, life does have a way of butting into and moving aside projects like this. Looking forward to following your progress.

Been off and on the last year and a half. Getting the car back together just to drive it again. Then get it a bit prettier…
Added a bunch of Dynamat on the firewall and floor pans. Even thought a new firewall pad would help a bit more in reducing engine compartment heat. I have to draw some kind of line being a convertible and all.

Here’s a pic of the matting.

Nice job on the matting, so are you not going to install a firewall pad in addition to the Dynamat?
