1965 GTO - True Barn Find - As Found
Guys. I'm having a hard time posting more than one photo. So, I will post two new threads: this one -as found and one as unwrapped. Not sure what I'm doing wrong with this I-Phone.

1965 GTO - True Barn Find - Engine Photo
Here is a shot of the engine. This is the original WS engine, etc. I am aware that the car has two valve covers with fillers on both sides and that the passenger side one is an aftermarket Stantz unit. Everything else seems correct.

Very nice! If you like you could email me the PICS and I can post them for you.
Send me a PM. What are you going to do with the car?

WOW!
Hope to view many more pics of this 65!
Is it Original Paint? Looks like it has a T.I. voltage regulator. Details Details! Thanks for sharing!

I'm going to do the normal mechanical repairs to make it roadworthy and driveable: new belts, hoses, brakes, wheel cylinders, clutch, pressure plate, new water pump, fuel pump, etc. I have correct hoses & belts with factory part numbers. Will have the original water pump rebuilt. I want it to be a "Preservation" rather than a "Restoration". It has plenty of flaws, but they were earned honestly. It would be presentable as is, with a professional cleaning, detailing, and buffing. It is only original once. It's a survivor at 73K miles, but certainly not a pristine one. Carbs will be rebuilt, but nothing painted. I may have to have the transistorized ignition rebuilt also.

Colors?
Original Paint and Pinstripe? Sounds like a Very Nice GTO! PS - I like that you are preserving and not restoring! After looking around I see it is Black with Parchment. How is the pinstripe holding up?

I may have an original pair of 65 covers, if I do I'll give them to you if you pay to have them shipped.

I notice it still has the original radiator hose clamps! WOW. But seems to be missing the finger guard. ?? Great color combo. Holy Grail of 65 Hdtps. I love it! Wish it was mine.

Fan?
I might me mistaken (65 experts chime in) but I thought a 65 with 3.90 gears were factory equipped with the HD 19.5'' notched fan?

Thank you for your generous offer. However, I do have a nice original set that will look right at home. They have very nice chrome (but not too nice) and a little patina rust on the lip edges.
