Default 1966 GTO full wheel covers. NOS

I'm thinking about entering my GTO in the AACA National event in Florida in the Spring. The car has done quite well in local and regional shows, but always takes a ding for the Hurst wheels.
So, I thought I would switch over to wheels and hubcaps. Anyone have anything as far as NOS hubcaps for that year, or some that might just need some paint touch up.
Thanks, Andre

This is the hubcap I am looking for. NOS or mint used. 1 or 4. I'll buy one at a time if I have to.

Are these close to the hubcaps you're looking for Andre? I believe these are from a 67??

I posted the pic.. The '67 is not that close to it. So far I got 2 sets but not enough to make a good set as yet.

Andre' are the Custom Disc what your car came with?
I too have been looking and as you've found out they are very HTCB.
I love the way they look straight on but from a front and/or overview they do stick out a bit.

I say go with DD and gold rims

If your interested I think I still have a set of Deluxe.

Yeah, my TG car originally came with the custom discs. I'm currently running the Hurst wheels, and could swap over to a set of Rally 1 wheels that I have.
I think these are one of the coolest hubcap that I have ever seen. They give the appearance of a mag wheel. It just doesn't seem like many people paid the upcharge for them.
Long story short, About 20 years ago, I looked at a palmetto green '66 GTO that the original owners were selling. It had these hubcaps but was missing one. I didn't buy the car, but I found them the hubcap and gave it to them. The car sold, and the next owner promptly put Cragar wheels on there, and I bought the hubcaps from him. I still have them, but they aren't as good as needed for the TG car. Later I picked up a set of 4 on ebay, but none of them were better than my worst one, so I'm still looking.
I'm not a DD kind of guy, but if I found a NOS set of standard hubcaps, I might consider running them. In my mind, we don't see enough cars with hubcaps, and I'm ready to lead that movement again.

i second the hubcap movement! have a 67 set of spinner caps from GTO plastic centers are scratched up though. put on my 66 tempest vert one side with these other side with rally ones- i like the spinners better!! the ones you are looking for are a little like mine without the spinner and center. good luck hope, hope you find fred

My 66 came with Rally I wheels, but if I owned a Muscle car of any make and it came with hubcaps I would definitely keep them on the car!

It's rare to see a GTO with any kind of wheel cover these days.

FYI - Ebay seller (gaprilday) has some of the covers you need but with some small issues. Pic below is the best he has on auction now. Good Luck!

Thanks Chris- I'll take a look at them. Minor issues that can be taken care of by someone with stainless resto skills are no problem.
I've been running the Hurst wheels on the car for almost 8 years, and am bored with the look as the rest of the car is essentially stock. I have a set of Rally 1 wheels as a last resort.
