Tom, when all is said and done, could give us a total breakdown of the early and late designs.

Just thought I would drop a note on here. I have driven my 62 Catalina with the new bathtub intake about 800 miles now. If anyone is on the fence with concerns about street manners, rest assured, this version of the bathtub has excellent street manners. My engine will idle at 1000 RPM's for as long as you like, rock solid, no loading up. I have been caught in construction traffic for 45 minutes at a time, smooth as silk. Off idle, very snappy. Tire shredding power at WOT. Draws quite a bit of attention at car shows. If you plan to run air cleaners, you can PM me about the fitment on a 62 at least. If you always wanted one, this may be your last chance. Super high quality piece. BTW, I have a pretty big solid lifter cam in my engine. 13.5" of vacuum at 1000 RPM. I am confident with a milder cam, this intake would idle right down to whatever speed you like.

I haven’t done anything with my bathtub yet( late style) as I’m finishing up a 455 project for my 70 GTO convertible. The bathtub eventually will be going into a 65 GTO. Looking forward to Ohio in a few weeks hoping to see some running bathtubs. Would love to see what others have done. BTW, I showed Nunzi my manifold. He was impressed by the quality of the casting. He said the design on the manifold looked good for making power.

This was/is an interesting project…kudos to you for taking it on and seeing it through.

Buddy of mine has a small foundry here in town( aluminum/bronze, no CI ) and I help him out every so often. Been a real learning experience with casting and all that’s involved, from idea to breaking a piece out.

Patterns can cost a fortune, and what pattern makers can do with wood, plastic, steel, and various other materials is impressive. 3D printers make cool things as well.

I’ve got a few things I’m going to try and mold/cast myself, should be interesting my pattern making ability.
