93 Bonneville Turn Signal Switch
One of the guys at work needs to change the turn signal switch on a 93 Bonneville. If he disconnects the battery, can he safely remove the air bag to get to the switch? If not, what is the proper procedure?

All gm cars use a YELLOW wire under the dash under the steering wheel. Unplug that it will say air bag wire on it. But always disconnect the battery on the new cars as not to screw up the computer if you happen to cross a circuit thats not suppose to be hot at that time. The remve the t-switch. If I'm not mistaken they are torx screws to take off the pastic around the steering wheel, a T-20, have fun but unhook the air bag so you don't accidentally set it off. That means TAKE IT OFF THE WHEEL. Then change the switch. The air bag if it goues off will push a man of 250 lbs about 5 feet in the air if he's under it, so imagian what kind of damage it will do to you if your in front of it when it goes off. So take it off it's very easy to do to save you from being hurt & a bunch of money to replace it.
