Default Upgrading to an OD auto trans: TV cable

We’re slowly working on putting an OD tranny in our ’67 LeMans. What have people done to accommodate the transmission TV cable? Did you modify the existing throttle cable bracket, or did you do something completely different? Any input is appreciated.

Your type of transmission is not mentioned. I can highly recommend the Bowtie Overdrives TV and Throttle Cable SYSTEMS.
That is we used on my 200 4R

I know it can be a controversial topic but I also prefer a non -lock up converter. Again this for my type of transmission.

+2 on the Bowtie Overdrive TV cable. I had to do some extra modification for the throttle due to using a factory Carter AFB, but otherwise plug and play. If you're using a Q-jet, i think it's all plug and play.

Jegs, summit, sell a carburator tv cable correction bracket that bolts to holley and Edelbrock carbs for the tv cable.
I would think it would also work for the Carter AFB
also.

Jeff - they don't fit - in fact none of them do.... they all are made to work with the Edelbrock carbs which have a Chevy style throttle arm on them. I had to cut my throttle arm on the carb in order to clamp on the cable connection onto the carb, in fact i contacted at least 5 of the different manufacturers - nobody make a TV cable kit to fit a factory Pontiac AFB.

Cards,
Good to know .....I wasn't aware the the AFB arms were different.
I think it's the bowtie overdrives website that has a diagram on how to make one
