Default Cars I should have purchased....yea...a RARE '72....

Yesterday I posted on the Pontiac GTO Facebook Page that I had missed out on a 1972 Post Coupe GTO. Matching number car. I looked at the car probably 10+ years ago and passed on it because I didn't have a garage or the means to restore it. I had always wondered what had happened to the car.

Well, someone responded to my post. A person that owns a 74 SD Formula posted that his brother had purchased the car and did a nut and bolt concourse restoration on the car.

The car needed total restoration but was number matching.

Apparently it's a WW4 Post Coupe GTO. Very cool color combo. I've posted a few pics here. Glad it survived.

Yup, I learned that yesterday. I almost bought it. Glad someone else did and did a great restoration on it.

Diego, you have an invoice copy on this WW4 car?
Saw some pics of this '72 late last year from just concluded MCACN, but yet to see a feature on it in print or on the web

Thanks for sharing the ultra rare WW4 Post car with us.
Only about a handful WW4 cars known of around here and I think this would be the only Post body known of. .

The Yellow-Green-White 72 Post next to it looks familiar

Thanks for sharing that Diego .
Appears the transmission type identification will be determined by the WW4 option price in the same manner as the WW5 cars.

Probably not enough WW4 invoices floating around to get all the Early/Late -- Manual/Auto variables nailed down yet.
Don't think I have seen an Automatic WW4 example yet .

Thanks Diego!
$21 Window Mldg as an option is throwing me for a loop.
Could of swore it was standard on a 72 2D27.
