I am with you, brother! Fly that 350p freak flag proudly!
Sometimes it's not about max performance, just have fun with what you've got.
I thought about a three deuce set up, one popped up locally on CL but needed a total rebuild, then I considered a dual quad set up I have but decided the easiest was the T2 and 750 off the shelf.
It's a total mismatch for a street cruiser, but I had all the parts.

Nothing wrong with a 350, mostly it just suffers from lack of compression, which can be fixed.

This is truth. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Get out there and drive your cars!

I like these statements! Not everybody has the availability or money to support getting the perfect block casting and/or stroker combo.

I agree 100%. This site is a wealth of knowledge and sometimes we lose sight of the fact the cars do not have to be perfect or correct to be enjoyed

Well I have moved the GTO around a few times and now the fresh oil in the 400 that came in the car looks like peanut butter.

Looks like the 350 is going in the GTO

Sorry to hear about the 400 and I hope it's just a blown head gasket since you have a messed up running cylinder plus coolant getting into the oil, so yes a strip down is in your future!

If you need to run the motor any more to move the car change the oil, put water back in ( not filled to anywhere near the top of the rad) and remove the water pump belt even though it means running the car on the Battery so you have way less of a chance of making more Peanut butter!

I call it Chocolate frosting!

I have experience running tripowers on a a 326 and a 350, both in '65 GTO's. In each case, the car ran very well with no issues and a LOT of top end power for a smaller engine. I say go for it. We didn't even to bother to re-jet the carbs. A 350 is not THAT much smaller than the 389....
