There were a total of 290 WW5 GTO's produced, 287 hardtops and 3 post coupes.

The seller got the "1 of" guesstimate from this thread, referring to M22 cars:

'71 Lucern Blue GTO It was originally Limekist Green and originally a 400/M21 car. But, it now has a 455HO (462)/M22 conversion.
'72 Quazel Gold GTO, '70 Polar White GTO (RAIII), '77 SE, '78, '80 WS6 Turbo, Trans Ams, '72 Grand Prix SJ. All Gone...
