Automatic... recent knee replacement precludes a 4 speed.

What was the process to get the GTO over the border? Any challenges?

I went on line and made a list of documents the state of Ohio would require.
In Canada the registration is also the title. That was signed over to me. The previous owner also signed a bill of sale and an odometer statement.

When we left Canada we had to stop at US Customs. They did a walk around of the car & I went inside. I produced the signed over registration & bill of sale. In less than ten minutes I had every document on my list, without asking.

When I got to Ohio I stopped by a local dealer so they could do an out of state inspection on the VIN. The dealership screwed that up and wrote the vin down wrong. Second trip to the dealer fixed that.

Lady at the title bureau was unsure what all she would need. I had my list and walked her through it. She needed the signed over registration, the bill of sale, the signed odometer statement, the out of state inspection form by the dealer and all the customs forms. She was both helpful and appreciative. it was a breeze.

In all it was extremely easy.

As an owner of a 72 GTO I would say that is a very nice looking car.

All Y-codes (including the respective 1971 version) were auto-only.
