if those are the dynomax bullets, my brother had them on his 468 bbc, about 750 horsepower, 3" exhaust. WAY too loud for the street, definitely going to attrack attention from the men in blue. When he took the car out for a test drive I bet I could hear him for an easy 2 - 3 blocks.

if you are looking for loud like straight pipe that is the muffler you seek.

hope this helps,
Mark

one of my former employees put them on his convertible 71ish lemans 455weekend bracket car, out the sides.
it wasnt too loud to drive, but it was no stealth fighter, either.
i'm using the long ones on my gto soon; the wife says the aerochambers are too quiet.
i'm going to prove she gets what she asks for.

I like decibles, never built my TA to be a silent killer. That will be when I swap to full roller cam, maybe. I still like a BARK. My flowmaster's are dumped before the rear axle now, and they just kick op WAY to much dust. I am forever washing the car, cause the roads allways have dust/dort on tem in my neighbouthood. Side exit will aleviate that. I can't run a Pypes crossflow, due to Elec fuel pump placement, and I want 3" Try to get 3" over the rear axle LOL

The Pypes 3" dual muffler system fits good on a 2nd gen car. It will be much easier to go over the axle than dump to the side. With that combination, it's still going to wake up the neighbors.

I run them on my car. They're loud. Here's a video of my car with
these on it. You can't hear the other car. The other car had a really nice 468 chevy, it went high
11's all night. I put the hurt on him this race with a 275lb. passenger in my car.
I'm going to go to a spintech muffler for next year.
I love the dynomax's sound and noise, my ears rang when I drove the car.
I love that. I'm going to spintech's because they sound great and I don't want
another "flowmaster" car like everyone else.

Mr PR, I think the car sounds good, on the track! It also sounds like you have either converter or tranny problems. Or were you just playing with the throttle?

I have the Dynomax race magnums on my TA and it's quiet! I'm going to get with PYPES and try a 3 1/2 pipes with an X and their mufflers for 07.
Here is my streetcar that runs 10.90's on motor and 9.90's on the bottle with pump gas and tailpipes. This pass was the warm up pass, I leave a little easier, hence the slower times, but you can hear the exhaust sound.

You can even hear the Mustangs tire spin on the gear changes.

They both sound good, Hmm. Anyone got a sound bite of Spintech's on a Poncho?

I have got 3" over the rear end with a 3" quarter exit so it is possible!

But a major hassle to make and they rattle at sertain rpm, even with alot of work put into securing them.

I am hoping to build a new system with an X-pipe and exiting infront of the rear tires, however there is close to no space under the 1st gen bird.

I have been looking at the Dynomax Ultra flow and I think I see a way to fit the system, just need to find out how close to the headers I can place the first set of mufflers (thinking of using two sets of them)

If it is to load IŽll use a disk insert in the exhaust tip for down town cruising

Yeah, tranny wasn't shifting on the nitrous. Had to back out of it.
These mufflers sound great on the track and the street.
Quiet exhaust is for girls.

I have the race bullets on my 79' bird, the 3" version (longer case, i believe). They sound really good! However, they ARE very loud. I've been told I can be heard from about 1/3 mile away (the length of my street), and I was barely on the throttle. On the throttle, probably 1 mile.

For fit? They are great! In fact, they aren't even the lowest part of the exhaust. The 45 degree bend out of the X-pipe is the low spot. With those mufflers, you don't see anything!

check out the pictures on my website. the first two pics from "2006" with the mufflers. there is a side shot, and rear shot! you don't see anything on the side shot. the rear looks clean, not those huge cases.

btw, i also used the POR-20 heat resistant paint, silver color. It really works well. I baked mine in the over (oh, the woman hated me!)...but it needs to be done. Without the baking, the paint kept soft and didn't harden, and I don't think the exhaust gets hot enough to harden the paint either.

good luck
