As a very serious hunter and trapper I have been really delighted with the quality and dependability of the ones offered through www.crookedhornoutfitters.com They are coming out with a new articulating unit in January, colored LED's as well (red & Green). These are not cheap O Walmart units, these are high quality that will not let you down.

I dont think the Open Flame would be a good idea for working arround cars but heres a few Miners Lamps that might help you,
Those new LEDs are just hype, It's hard to beat that time tested, tried & true technology from the good old days! We have them all arround the antique shops here in PA, if you need one let me know.

Aerostitch is a motorcycle clothing and accessories store, but they sell a variety of flashlights as well: http://www.aerostich.com/catalogsear...light&limit=30 There are a couple head strap styles in there, along with the kind that clips to the bill of a ball cap.
