Default Red fender liners?

Picked up a 66,…phs shows it was ordered with the red fender liners. Anyone have any numbers on how many were sold equipped with them?

PMD Didn't keep track of options. In most cases, it was only the engine production numbers that mattered to them.

Ok thanks, I thought the ones in the know may have a pretty good guess on the liner cars produced. I’ve heard estimates on the exterior colors numbers.

Oh, I'm sure you'll come across lots of nonsense information about owners attempting to make their car 1 of a few based on options and colors, etc.

Body color really had nothing to do with this option, I will say IMHO some colors just don't work...

I’m no expert for sure, I did notice and learn something as when assembling the car to transport. All the brake drums were painted red. I thought some kid had done this. Lol. Found out the 66s with the rally’s and red liners had factory red painted drums.

Just one more cool thing about a '66. I didn't know about the red lines being part of the package. I thought if it had rallies it got the red drums. No?

The Red Painted Drums were part of the Rally One Option in '66 Only and had nothing to do with the Fender liners.

In this ad/clip it is clear;

In this ad/clip, they are referring to two separate options in the same image, sort of deceptive until you read it carefully;

I almost went for them on my Code K Lemans but just a bit too "Christmassy" for my liking

Bob's Code K '66 looks great as is;

For me, with that color I would keep them if I had them but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them. I think they'll look fantastic on the Nightwatch Blue car that JC just bought. I think they'd look pretty good on my Barrier Blue car too.

Ok, scrolling back in this section I ran across a post that 1100, tripower 4sp cars had the red liners installed. If this was accurate, I would assume that would be in the initial run of cars distributed to dealers? Similar to the 2000 69 judge pattern cars?

Just like a mismatched trim colour, on some options they looks horrendous, others just a curiosity.
