It was a disaster. They were called the “Night Stalkers” for a reason; they were trained to operate at night, not in broad daylight.

Operations that end unsuccessfully or poorly are great teaching tools for future ops.

Grenada and Panama showed weaknesses in radio communications. Services now use a common radio and frequencies set into place before an inter-service op begins
Iran Hostage Rescue pointed out deficiencies of aircraft operation in the desert amongst other things. Lessons put into place for Desert Storm.
