BOP Speedometer drive intetchangability questions
Hi group.
I wanting to change my speedometer drive gear because its worn out on the seal groove and is leaking, and because of doing a calculator, I need a different number tooth driven gear. In my research of the drive gears and the driven gears, it seems like all these are interchangeable to achieve the desired ratio for the speedometer. The question I have: are these really interchangeable? Almost every gear set (i.e. ring and pinion etc) are matched sets and to interchange would be quick disaster. Please shine some light. Thank you |

Each drive gear will work with specific colored driven gears. Otherwise, they would have only had to build one drive gear to fit all the driven gears...
