Tough 10 Year Anniversary
Today has been a tough day. It was 10 years ago today that my wife suddenly died. The days do get easier, but the hole doesn't get any smaller. On the bright side, I got to spend forty years with the love of my life. The attached picture was taken a couple of years before she died.

Sad to hear this Jim, it's never easy. Hang in there, she's still with ya looking over your shoulder. It's hardest when the most important people in your life are gone. Cherish the memories
Don't laugh, I have that feeling from time to time that my grandad, who passed away back in 75, is somewhere very close by watching.

that is awful..but remember the 40 great happy years with her and know that you made her happy..after all, she wanted to be with you..
 if you lived closer, us poncho guys would take you out for drinks and listen to all your hot rod stories..and we would all get super drunk!!!

I can't imagine what it would be like to loose someone after that length of time, been married 30 years myself and wouldn't know where I'd be without her.

I feel for you OMT.
God,has it been 10 yrs. I went threw my 1st Christmas - New Year's without my wife Dorothy,was very hard getting threw it! Hang in there man. Steve.

You have my sympathy. I'm sure she was the best better half you could have ever wished for.
Ten years ago in December, my sister-in-law lost her brother & only sibling at age 32. Very unexpectedly from a cardiac condition that nobody knew he had. Hard to cope with, I know. |

My condolences to you Jim. I remember you posting about it on CP soon afterwards, I wouldn't have guessed 10 years ago. Mine has stuck with me almost as long, I can't imagine a life without her.
How are the daughters and son, the grandkids? She lives on through them, you know. Steve |

Both of my parents and three brothers all died suddenly but that doesn't compare to the unexpected loss of your wife. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry to hear that. I'm sure this day is hard every year.
The death that I have the biggest problem with was my cousin who was killed in 1969 in a construction accident thru no fault of his own. It was a summer job before he went to college. He was almost 18, and I was almost 10. He played tricks on me, took me fishing, etc. I still think about it quite a bit.

Jim, I remember you've posted your wife's sudden passing previous yrs. & I think:
1st sorry for your loss. 2nd each time it helps put me in your place and renews my appreciation for my Mrs and our time together. 3rd most important is thank you for your input and contributions here on PY and in greater Pontiac Land. Always glad to see your posts, pictures, experiences, etc. Keep them coming! |

I am fortunate to have close family that also lives close to me. My daughter is 7 miles away. Two of her kids are away from home, but the twins are still there. They are 9. My oldest granddaughter had a baby 2-25-13, making me a great-grandpa. I understand that she and her husband are being transferred somewhere else, but she hasn't announced where yet. All I know is that it is not in Japan. He is a Marine working on F-18 avionics. Plus my Mom is still alive. She is now 93. My daughter looks and acts very much like my wife.
I attached two pictures. One is the females on my side of the family. The other also includes the males. These were taken at Chrstmas where we also celebrated my daughter's birthday. She missed Christmas day by 2hours and 56 minutes. |
