air horn # 7024855
I have what looks to be a correct air horn for a 65 center carb. However ,the number on the back side is 7024855.
Can someone tell me what this is from? Thanks, Dave |

Pictures?
1957-58 Pontiac center carbs are using the 7008594 air horn, 1959-60 Pontiac center carbs are using the 7012710 air horn. 1961-65 Pontiac center carbs are using the 7017917 air horn. |

The carb with brass fuel fitting is correct.
Don't know why the pictures are sideways. |

Only the '61-''65 had the 1/4" pipe at the top of the airhorn to connect to the choke heater tube. The ones ;you show in the pictures appear identical to the correct '65 airhorn.

I know they appear the same, but just one has the correct #7017917. for a 65 air horn. The other looks very similar, but has #7024855 on the under side. I don't know what year it is for. (maybe for a full size car????) Thanks, Dave |

I don't have one apart to check the casting number, but that airhorn looks like one from the 1959/60 389 "E" carb.
These carburetors, with a small increase in the idle jet, and or course different main jetting, work well for the individual wanting tripower, but not wanting to spend the funds for numbers matching. Have sold a lot of them over the decades. Jon
