Default NEW BEST AND IN THE 9'S!!

Went to track on mon for a rental with some buddies.
New 4.30 gears got the 60' time down to consistant 1.38s and 9.81 ets at 138mph.
1/8th mile was 6.2's at around 110mph.
Last tire gear combo was 28' tire with 3.73 gear and best was 10.18 at 134
Now it is 4.30 gear with a 315 m/t drag radial (30").

Think there is still some left in it!

This is all motor,pump gas.still 11.3:1 comp,468 c.i 455 block

Was shifting at around 7300rpm,went through traps at around 7000-7100rpm.

Ill get some vid up.

Thanks everyone!!
Still same converter,a 9" continental,stalls at 4800rpm on transbrake.
Slip comes in at around 6%.
I was leaving off a 2 step, worked my way up to 4600rpm leave.
60's were consistant 1.38s all day.

Old 3.73 gear/28" tire combo was doin 1.53 60' but thats was leavin off a 1500rpm footbrake.

Gonna look to see how i can drop 60' lower then 1.38,i think there is more et in it with the 138mph.
Also cldnt look at afr logs till i got home and found out i was way lean at 13.5-13.7 afr! so maybe a little power left in it to!

Great run Congrats!
It is amazing how close are cars are setup. I have a 9" Continental, same gear, same size tire, 3.5" exhaust. I hope my 60fts as good as yours does.

FWIW, an old table I have which has proven very accurate in my experience, shows @ 138 MPH an ideal chassis setup would yield a 1/4 mile ET of 9.75, 1/8 mile ET of 6.17, 330' of 3.96 and a 60-foot of 1.34. If so, it would mean you do have a little more there, even at your current power level. And, if your MPH goes up, even more room for improvement.

Again, great job! That's a huge change from tires and rear end ratio. Gets me to thinking.

Jim

It's amazing what a little tweating dose. Right gear...getting the converter
right and a little money, to do these things. Yeah I believe there's another tenth
or two there.

It would be interesting see if the ET improved with the addition of a cage, even though you're adding weight.
