The only block I've ever weighed was a 1970 400 that came in at 187 lb. I doubt there is a big difference between a 326 and 455, I know they all feel pretty heavy.

Not your specific answer, but these might be of interest....

Pontiac 400 Block - 1972
(With 4.120" Bores and Two Bolt Mains.)
Weight = 187 lbs.

From a previous combination I built:

'70 400 block with all 5 Pro-Gram Engineering billet steel main caps w/ARP stud kit, filled to the freeze plugs, bolt-in Mega Brace lifter bore bracing and bored to 4.165" weighed 207 pounds.

Depending on the bore the average IA2 block weighs about 245 lbs.

My ‘59 389 weighs in at 210 lbs. The total shipping weight was 230 lbs (20 lbs for the pallet; 210 for the block).
