Default What do I have here? Alternator bracket

Got this
In box of
Parts. Thought it was 1963-4 alt bracket but I do not think so
Anymore as I can’t
Find the part number. Thanks in advance

The 978 code was first used in 65.

I'm sure that was part of our 68 Firebird alternator when we purchased the car.

Best so far 10.12@133 mph. 1.43 60 ft.

Used Bracket 9786904. Read Ad
Jan 13, 2022 • THIS IS A USED ALTERNATOR BRACKET FOR I
BELIEVE (CA) SMOG SYSTEM FOR PONTIAC. HAS 9786904
ON IT.

Is this not correct?

I can see the A.I.R. port on the bracket so that will limit it to the years that system was offered. No provision for power steering on the bracket so it would only be used for manual steering equipped cars.

PY parts lookup says 1967 if number is 9786904.

Looks similar to the lower bracket for alternator/power steering pump. Bolts to the driver's side head. Not exact as the one that was on my 69 428 GP., But similar

thanks guys the rest of the parts are 68 firebird so that makes sense.

9786904 is for 1967 P/8-T/8-F8 S.S. Delcotron mtg.-w/A.I.R.-exc. 62 amp.

S.S. is Standard Steering.

1967-69 P/8, T/8, F/8, GP/8 and 1970 P/8, T/8, GP/8 w/P.S. uses the #9786903 bracket.
