Default 1970 to 1974 Pontiac FAT Trans Am Judge Formula Steering IC ICX ic code thickness

Concerning the size of the early Pontiac 'fat' Trans Am formula steering wheels:

Trying to confirm there are different circumference sizes for 1970 to 1974 fat steering wheels.

I was informed that 1970-71 actually had a 4" diameter grip, and the 1972-73 had a 3-3/4" wheel grip, and the 1974-76 had a 3-1/4 " wheel.

And then of course some had sculptured backsides.

Stampings changed from IC, ic, icx, ICX or whatnot.

Can the experts here please post the definitive guide to this both in code and size through these early years?

Thank you.

The ic/icx stamps are specific to 70-72. I think icx might be 72 and ic 70-71. I have seen large IC stamps which seem to belong to 70 wheels and small IC stamps which seem to be 71. I have very few data points but this is what I have observed. The stamp differences may not be exactly lined up with model year, not sure. 73-75, or so, wheels are still fat but seem a little softer to me.

Thanks. Be neat to have those with original fat wheels post the circumference of what they are.

I never realized there may be a size difference on the early fat grip wheels. Thought perhaps they all had the same size.
