1964 Pontiac GTO 389 4 speed Nocturne Blue --- same owner 45 years ---
I am posting this GTO that is owned by the former president of the San Diego POCI Club:
1964 Pontiac GTO Same owner since 1972 PHS docs verified: Nocturne Blue Original 389 / M-20 wide ratio 4 spd car with console 3.23 posi 10 bolt rear Just turned over 100,000 actual original miles Tri-power was added, but have the original 4bbl intake and carb with air cleaner Rare wood wheel, in-dash tach, reverb, and console. Numbers matching drivetrain. Professional older restoration on a rust free California car. This is a beautiful real GTO that has been featured in Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine. Has a mile deep and original coded nocturne blue paint. Sold new at Giberson Motors in Chico, CA. Original license plate frames included in sale. 389GOAT license plates (have both blue and black sets) have been on the car since the 1980s, but original DMV issued black plates can be sourced for the car and applied if desired. Full history on the car, never abused (had one prior to this that was "enjoyed") so this one has been babied ever since including by the original female owner. $45,000 Please leave your number in your PM to receive a call back to discuss this goat further. This GTO is for sale in San Diego, California. |

more info
I will be able to get more detailed photos this weekend for those that have inquired.
Also, this GTO had around 80,000 miles back in 1972 when it was purchased from the original owner lady. The 78X original motor was rebuilt years later at around 85,000 miles, and has just 15,000 miles on it since. So in the last 45 years of ownership, only 20,000 easy miles have been put on this Goat. The car was painted around 1999 or so, and still looks gorgeous. Some old studio shots to enjoy! |

Got some pics from yesterday. I was able to take it for a short ride... I don't think the owner has ever even let his wife drive it. Engine just purrs... cam appears stock or perhaps one grind up from stock the owner believes was installed years back.

Data tag
Can you explain why the data tag has puddy on the rivets?

Good question. Perhaps body shop did it? No idea. And the owner has no idea how it would have been originally and doesn't know.
But if you are trying to insinuate anything, please stop right there. This is a very original and documented 2 owner GTO. Full history dating back to birth. |

I've owned several completely original GTOs with the putty-looking stuff over the rivet holes. I have no doubt that is original.

Sealer over the cowl tag rivets is design intent. They all should have that.
