Default 4l80e direct drum clearance

Just got a th400 stage 3 kit from Jakes,with 4l80e direct drum.clearance is tight at .028-.030 .th400 direct piston and backing plate in
a 4l80e direct drum.6 clutches and .077 steels,no steel wave .what is usually done to to get more clearance?

used frictions.
TH400 piston coud be shaved.
i forget if there are thinner steels (060?) i dunno without my notebook.

If you turn down the piston be careful that the bottom steel plate can't rotate under the drum lugs at the base of the drum. Using a .060" steel is the easiest way to get clearance-try Alto. You could turn .015-.020" off the top side of the pressure plate lugs.
