Nearly a Dozen RA IV GTOs Coming Up
Looks like someone is liquidating at least part of their RA IV GTO collection. I count 11 of them. All look very nice. A couple are numbers matching.
Here is a link to one of them. https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0123-53...ge-ram-air-iv/ To see them all you need to do your own search using this link. https://www.mecum.com/search/

They are shooting for 4,000 cars to auction at the event , they have 3,878 currently
They get 15% add-on fee to every sale price. Entry fee per car Fees for Bidder passes I don't know if there is a spectator fee , but guessing there is They might as well just print their own money . |

3,925 cars as of today
That is MASSIVE beyond my imagination. The OrbitOrange Ram4 Jvert has been popping up with exposure on just about every platform at every level . I think they are trying to make sure it gets a few good bids . It should pull in some heavy heavy dough ! |

Not nit picking but more of an observation. To me the 69 Trans Am appears to have something amiss on the rear wing/stanchion/paint alignment. The stanchions from what I have seen in the past and in the assembly manual for stripe layout the side "edge" of the stanchion lines up in the center of the deck lid stripe, not the center line of the stanchion itself. If this is to be true, then the deck lid stripes are off according to the assembly manual if my memory serves me right. I always found that to be very odd for the factory to do so, why not have the stripe centered with the stanchion as seen in the Mecum car. Again, maybe my memory is unclear, but this was something I always looked for on restored cars. Perhaps someone here can confirm. Beautiful car regardless and I would be very proud to own it.

I went last year and probably will go this year. Biggest car show on earth it seems. Took a good part of the day just walking around looking at all the cars.

If you have the resources, I am not sure there have ever been more IV cars in place for sale... If I had the resources and attended this auction, I would need multiple car haulers to get home.

A lot of cars to get across the auction stage. A lot of high profile cars too. I think the lesser cars are going to get lost in the "sea of cars" racing across the stage. I have attended many years and sometimes a car gets less than a minute on stage, others they seem to spend a lot of time on. I imagine the high profile cars will get the longest "stage time". More GTO's and Pontiacs than I have ever seen at this auction in many years. I am planning on going several days. Making a list of cars/times I want to see. It will be very interesting to see what the market does. My opinion is the high profile cars will break records but the "average" cars will loose ground. Economy is not in good shape and it may have a impact on this auction and the market.

One fellow named Edwards is bringing 13 Winged Mopars , plus a few without wings..
Lots of stars coming out , per se'. Even 2 different 70 Hemi 4spd Superbirds in Bright Limelight Green , the rarest color. Hemi this and Hemi that, and plenty of Boss 429 cars. Haven't checked how many LS6 and upper crust 69 Camaro's yet. Should be plenty of everything , but will there be enough money to buy them all ? Hope so |

Only a matter of time before the “average cars” start to loose ground, Could this be the start of it, why are all these collectors unloading cars?

For some collectors they are "aging" out. Their collections have become a responsibility they no longer want. Others may feel the market has peaked or is peaking and are looking to cash out before a down turn. A lot of different reasons for collectors to sell. But my feeling is some are trying to get out while the market has been way up lately.

Waiting a few years, if you are young enough, could save you a bunch of money if there is a particular car you want. If you have to have the car now, maybe this is the auction, with all this supply there should be some better buys.
