I have a customer of mine that just bought a '73 Pontiac Firebird TA and it has brake problems. 1st of all, the engine has been modified, different intake, carb and cam. We have replaced the front calipers, rear cylinders, pads, master cylinder, booster, proportioning valve. The brakes will still NOT work at low speeds, if you are driving at a high rate of speed and slam on the brakes they will lock up. Otherwise, they don't work. We also tried adding a vacuum storage canister and still didn't make any difference. Any clues as to what might be wrong?

Couple of questions. They do not work at all?! Did the problem stay the same from the beginning, before you did anything, all the way 'til now after you've swapped all the parts? Since the front brakes do most of the stopping I'd concentrate on that area. Could there possibly be a kink in one of the hard lines? Did you get a strong burst of brake fluid when you bled the brakes?

what do you mean by "not work" ? I mean the pistons do not move...at all? Or the pedal is so hard to push?
