Inside door panel chrome bezel for Ames F167 Remote Sport Mirror '71-'72
Hi,
I ordered Ames F167 Remote Sport Mirror driver's side for '71-72' and Ames does not offer a reproduction chrome bezel and retainer that works on the inside of the door panel for this mirror. (The pic of the interior is representative of what I'm looking for.) I've tried A153MD '69-'70 Remote Mirror Control Bezel, but it's keyed differently then the mirror control knob. I've also tried A153L ('65-68 All Models, '69-72 Sedan Remote Mirror Inside Bezel), which is close to the same diameter, but it's threaded and I can probably make it work, but I don't have the retainer for the backside of the door panel to prevent it from flopping forward inside the car. Does anyone know the correct bezel to use for F167 '71-'72 Sport Remote Mirror and/or have one I can purchase? Thanks! Jim.

My 72 Lemans vert has it lower on the door panel. It does look square like the one shown though. You may want to contact 'Ol Pinion Head here. He has a stash of parts.

Thanks for the replies!
@DavesGTO, yes, that looks like it may work as it's not keyed! Note that I'm installing the '71-'72 Sport Mirrors on my '69 Custom S because I like the look of those mirrors. The driver's side door already has a hole to accept a remote mirror, so if I can get the correct bezel and retainer for Ames F167 it should work. I would need to drill a hole in the door panel, which I'm willing to do once I get all the right parts. I've already installed the passenger side mirror (non-remote) and it came out nice. Had to drill a new hole in the bracket I ordered to line up to the existing holes in the door. Please let me know what you're thinking for the price. Thanks! Jim.

The last part of the install will be where to mount the bezel inside on the door panel. Pics are welcomed!
