Well, the assembly manual called it a Baffle assembly but, yes that is the part. I haven't pulled mine out yet, but that is how I will repair.
Thanks! |

Are you happy with how the back end sits up?

Not really.... but I haven't seen it in person yet.
The ones installed currently were sourced locally from St Louis Spring Co. I was always concerned that they would end up too high, like so many do. I installed the springs myself (the car was a roller by the time Steve got it), and after seeing it in person and driving it a bit, I may swap them out for a lowered pair.

To me, the whole car sits too high. I would do what I could to bring it down an inch and a half or so. Steve does great work so you will be pleased when it's done.

Picked up the cars from Steve yesterday and he and his crew did a great job!
As good as this picture is, it looks even better in person! He really stepped up and took over a partially complete build and finished it to a much higher standard than I ever could have done on my own. Its no wonder that his shop was filled with Firebirds. I'll get a few more pics later, I just wanted to thank him and you guys on here for hooking me up.

The car does look fantastic. I was fortunate to see it when it was very close last month.
Congratulations Chuck. That is a great feeling to have one finished, especially since MMR was able to compliment the hard work you had already put into the project. I don't see any blue fenders on it so I suppose Steve was able to keep the boxes between projects sorted pretty well too! Steve, another car delivered in a box project completed! Congratulations to you too.

Thanks for the referrals and compliments. There were some boxes but Charlie had already done some great work when it got here. He's been great to work with and patient as well while I hunted parts. For example, ordered his door panels in Feb and received them Oct. We were very close to installing his originals so he could get his car back and me making a trip to St Louis to install the new ones once they arrived.
I'm anxious to hear how it runs. I did drive the car some but didn't want to lay into the fresh Butler engine yet. It felt like it was going to be really strong though. Yes Greg, I think all blue parts are still here. 2 or 3 KRs I can't seem to find though. Maybe I left them in Charlie's trunk. Hmm, I'll have to check with him. |
