Looks great nice and straight.

Is that the color? What's next clear?

11's would be awesome.

My guess is that it is tinted primer or sealer. My pop has a 54 Merc that has the same color, and it isn't paint.

It is in primer, i got the tailpanel quickly but had decided before that to go ahead a put it together so i can race this summer. The car is going back in this fall to get tailpanel/paint.

Thanks for the tailpanel Jeff.

Well i made three runs tonight before the rain. Slower than last year. Can't stick the launch, wants to spin no matter how much i tried heating the tires/changing pressures. I did notice it bogs down a fair bit during the burnout so i don't think i am getting enough heat into the tires. I am going to jet it down and see how that helps with the burnout. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow too.

Runs tonight:
1)13.24/104/2.11
2)12.66/109/2.04
3)12.58/109/2.03

Biltit,
Do you still run 275/60/15 DR and 3.73 gears? Last time out I could not even get a good burn out with DR. Car just goes sideways. Can you try some slicks?

Yup, same tires. Ran a best of 11.97 at 110 1.65 60's!

Serge, i have to heat the crap out of them. Stays straight but needs a fair bit off smoke to hook, also running at 15psi. I had a hard time yesterday with unprepped track but today was prepped so it hooked alot better. Change of .5 sec. just with prep no tuning.

If you check my link below you can see a couple vids of my burnouts, i should have some more soon.

I have some hoosier QTP's at home but don't like them, they are getting old.

Not sure if they will let me run them. I might try some et streets next set of tires. I sure like the radial on the street over the hoosier though.

Cliff mentioned that the m/t dr do not last. He swears by ET streets. I would like to "try" them but like Biltit mentioned I like the radials on the street.

Remind me if you're running caltracs or slappers.

Is this with the "small" cam?

Do you what the altitude was?

Good job.

John

Yup, small cam in sig. and CE J-bolt slappers. Altitude is around 1560ft.

Thanks.

Cool, thanks. I am on holidays for 2 weeks so i am going to put in a larger cam and try to fix my crankcase pressure problem and then run it again on sept.1st. I am also going to shim my slapper bars because right now i have about 1 1/4'' between the snubber and spring. I might try some bolts instead of the snubbers.

If you have the resources, I have seen many stockers cut and bend them up then weld a piece in to the pie shaped area that is now open from bending them.

This way the snubber is very close to the spring eye.

Weighed in at 1750kg=3850lbs. At the track i had full tank, this weight is with 1/4 tank but my 46lb son and a seat so i figure 100lbs in the car but probably 100 lbs less fuel? Overall pretty close to race weight. My figure is 3700-3800lbs.

Thats with me (215). The scale was dead on 1750 so i assume its resolution is to 10kg.

Ponjohn-do you have subframe connectors? I was very suprised at how heavy they are! I have chopped most of the metal out of the front bumper support and removed the bumper shocks, the rear bumper is next. should be around 50lbs.

Yes, they are made from chromeoly (sp)round tube, welded in.

I can get a pic if you like.

I have 40lbs of ballast behind the rear bumper too, the car was scaled with the BBC in it before I bought it.
