Default Valve springs

What Brand valve springs do you guys recommend? Big solid roller cam. 270/280 @.050 & .450 love lift . Will see some street miles. 2.18 installed height and 1.66 OD.

If this is the installed height with the needed spring cup then I would use a Manley 221047 spring.

It’s a triple spring with no flat wire damper to mess up on you, at a 2.00” installed height it has 350 psi, and it’s OD is your required 1.66”.

These are good for .800” lift at the 2.00” installed height.
These are likely not cheap springs these days, but should get you thru 3 full race seasons if you don’t buzz up to 8000.

We are also using a Manley in John's engine.
In our case it's their 221448 NexTek Drag Race Valve Spring at 2.100".

50mm solid roller / intake 285 @.050"
.5000" lobe lift / 1.7 rocker ratio
2.230" titanium intake valves
920 hp @7000 rpm
