Question Victor intake on a 69 Firebird

I`m trying to find out if a Victor intake would fit under a 69 Firebird hood with a 2" cowl. if so what type of air cleaner base would I need?

Yes it will. It actually will fit under a stock flat hood. I had one with a nitrous plate and a 850 carb, moroso drop base cleaner and a 2" filter all under the stock flat hood. A 2" filter may be a bit restrictive for all out racing and max hp but I removed it when i was at the track racing. On the street a 2" filter is quite enough for what you need there.

When you make the swap be ready to use two stacked valve cover gaskets and hold down studs if your valve covers are the type with a lip to hold the gasket.

thanks.

the hood was made by someone over here by taking a mold off my original steel one, then making the cowl to follow the shape of the original lines.

it was a one off for me as the guy used to race with us and did it in his spare time. I do have the finished mold in case anything happens to this hood.

You're gonna need the extra clearance your custom hood provides
