Default CV-1 535 finally on the pump

(Sat 9/19/15)

Finally we are on the pump today and the first few pulls are in. This motor is a continuation of the 505 build after we kicked out the rods so we opted to go with a 4.5" crank since the 4.25" crank was junk. Attached below is the last Dyno sheet for today. The intake is a standard single 4150 low rise with an adapter to accept a Dominator carb on race gas. The jetting was pretty close right off the shelf so it wasn't touch and timing is set at 28 degrees. We are very pleased to have hit the 906hp @ 7000 and 782tq @ 5200 so early. Monday we will switch to EFI on the low rise and then put the R manifold w EFI on to see what we end up with race gas wise. After that the E85 fuel will be tested and compared to the VP-c14.

Here is a link to the thread on my board with the history and details of this motor if interested.

Congrats on getting some pulls in on your engine.

EFI should not buy you any real HP over the carb (ask Marcella on that deal) if the carb and EFI are tuned right. That being said the EFI should drive much better at the lower rpm (cruise, transient, off idle conditions).

Nice Job!

Power still climbing at 7,000- nice.
I guess you have a reason for being at [only] 28 degrees ignition timing?

Congrats on the numbers, gives me something to dream of when I start building my 428 next year, shooting for about half of what I am guessing you will end up on with your final tune. Hope you get it in the car soon so we can se some track numbers.

On my cv1 motor, it made peak power at 28 degrees. Picked up 15 hp dropping from 32 to 28 iirc.

Congrats Alex. No doubt you've had a rough road to get where your at now. Hope the motor makes it off the pump and into your car so you can get back to racing!
