Default Intro and my new 1972 LeMans

Hey all,
My name is Scott and I just recently bought a 72 LeMans. I was over at a friends house giving him some toys for his little boys and I saw that he had his LeMans out in the front. He has had this car for over 30 years and I had talked to him about it before. Well he said that he was getting rid of it, he had bought a new Kia and his wife said it had to go. He called the scrapper and was offered $300 for it. I said I would give him that. He agreed and I drove home in my new LeMans. Yes, that is right, I drove it home. It could use some carb work and I want to install an HEI, but it runs and drives. It has a mostly stock 350 with I assume a THM350 auto. Bucket seats and a console shift. It was green on green, but was painted white some years back. No rust on the floors, just a small amount behind the rear wheels.
So, this is it. I know I will have many questions about LeMans stuff. I am a mechanic and have been for 25+ years, so I know my way around an engine/car, but I am new to Old Pontiac's. Anyway, thanks for looking.

Welcome to PY! Great score! That's one heckuva friend you have there. I could use a friend like that. He'll wake up one day when the 'old ' Kia lets him down and realize he let go of a pretty solid car.

Nice. It has Luxury LeMans Grilles and Fenders/Emblem. The dash should have a cursive "LML" on the passenger side as well. The VIN should start with "2G" as well.

Nice score! You should have a blast with that one. Pontiac 350s are great little engines, and the car looks like it's in good shape.

Thanks guys. I know that I will have fun with this one. I was not looking for another car, but this was way too good of a deal to pass up. I plan to look it over a little this weekend to figure out what all it needs.
BTW, it does have the "LML" on the dash.
