I never played the video game, but it was amazing that after doing twice what most people wouldn't do in their lifetime, he would come back and do it again.

Yes, RIP to John Madden. He was a one of a kind. Changed the way we watched pro-football. I don’t remember anyone using a tele-strater before him. He lent his name to what is probably the biggest/most lucrative video game series. Seemed like he singlehandedly launched the diesels pusher motor home movement (The Madden Cruiser!) since he avoided air travel at all costs.

RIP Mr Madden.

Agree, "one of a kind", and very good at both coaching and explaining why coaches did given things during a game.

Many many awards for his commentary on the TV.
