Default Offset wiper blades?

Do they make a wiper blade that is longer on one end that will fit a 62? I mean come on. Was everyone tiny back in the day? I replaced the wiper, but never drove it in the rain till a day or so ago.

I have to lean to see through the wiper mark. Plus the windshield is enormous!@!!

Thanks
Dave

Admittedly I am not directly answering your question, but...

If your Safari still has single-speed wipers, I think they have only 15" or 16" blades. The dual-speed (overlapping type) has 18" blades and makes a big difference.

First thing I would do is apply Rain-X to the W/S. You almost don't need wipers with that on. Then, use the tiny wipers to clear morning dew, light mist or low-speed rain buildup off the glass.

You could also convert to 2-speed but it's kind of a hassle.

If my wipers currently do not operate, how do I tell what type I have single or duel speed?

If it's like the 62, the single speed blades both point to the right, and the two speed blades point toward the center.

Single speed wipers are set up so they go back and forth in parallel, dual speed wipers pivot from each side and meet in the middle. The British call them 'clap hands' wipers.

My wipers clap. And when it rained my wife asked if I could still see, because there is a big spot in the center that these wipers don't reach.
But amazingly enough I don't need that center spot. Just looking through the area of my wiper I see everything.

The "clappers" actually overlap, if they have 18" blades.

Remember that if you switch over, you have to replace the motor, the wiper transmission, all the linkage, the louvered body panel that goes between the hood and windshield, along with the switch and wiring.

. . . . and bezels - I learned the hard way by having a nice pair of two-speed bezel assemblies plated just to find they didn't work with my single speed wipers, then having to have another pair of singles plated . . .

Here's the best option of all... Rain X. As long as you're moving you don't need wipers.
