Default NEW CONTROVERSY BEST GTO

FOR me its the 69............... Best looking coke bottle body, hideaways, you cant beat the look. Interiors Much better than 68 & pretty much continued to 72 with little changes.

lets start some crap

Sorry, but '65 is by far the best refinement of a basic design of any of the 4 basic designs...73-74 I don't know what that crap was. And when you look at the big picture, in '65 the GTO is by far the best looking, most destinctive design of any mid-sized car, I don't think we can say that about our '69-'71 Judges. There is plenty of good competition for esthetic appeal in that era, in my opinion. Now the whole judge package, competition gets thinner..DW

Default Sorry - it's 1968 - no hideaway version.

Bettter looking rear end bumper, valence w/wrap around parking lenses, emblems and quarter lights, interior is great too - OK maybe the dash and hideaways are better on the 69 - but that is not enough...

Was 65 actually a GTO or an option on the Lemans?

Now that i have been asked, i prefer the 70 to 72. refined, better handling, 455 avail, rear bumper with lights, i could go on and on.

65 was a GTO, where did you guys get your info?

Doug a wise man once said, "be careful what you don't like, because you might just end up with it". That applies to the 74! Pure styling incorporating the TA scoop, how can you not like that?

If I need to come whoop some sense into you, I'll do it. Just make sure you have plenty of beer and naked chics cause I like to party before my arss whoopin.

I'll own one of every year eventually, you see Steve, I have this problem. I collect stuff. I'm trying to buy a farm that has 10K sq. feet of storage and shop space to store and restore these cars we all love. I don't imagine there will ever be a GTO with a tent sticking out of its a_ _ though..

Next.. DW

HAHA

I went about this bass akwards Doug, I bought numerous GTO's 20 years ago but didn't have land to store them on. Now I've got the land, but can't find anymore cars.

Not only would have have a 74 with a tent out its arss, I would also sleep in it.

Mr. Blue you are WAY off base mister! Those hideaways make for a front heavy car and hurt the dragstrip performance. And regular is better than a Judge? You have lost your mind with Doug.

Ive owned, 65s love em, I think they are the BEST box car around, aside from a 62 63 tempest, Ive got 1st dibs on a 64 convert sitting a garage, 66s fall short to the 67 in my book, 68 CAR of the year but JUST REDEFINED IN 69A MUCH BETTER PACKAGE. LOVE 70s, & had 1, but the pinch seam down the side.... i just prefer 69. NOW dont get me wrong with the 455 70s out there...
those are tough cars to beat with all the torque. i like & also owned a 71 great car but smogged out & Emissioned hindered its TRUE performance. 72 is the scape goat off the 71, 73 boats i wont even go there but they are neat to see. the 74 nova (GTO) well if it came 4 spd & SUPER DUTY it would be the BEST CAR. but that just didnt happen. so its still a nova you can sleep in or on. 69 69 69 thats all there is.
MENTION JUDGE............ its a 69 carousel red that everyone relates to. JUST say GTO & i think MOST will relate to the grandfather 64
