Has anybody seen or used these new seat covers for a 70 GTO? I came across these on ebay.

Item number 251588383897

"THIS IS A BRAND NEW REPRODUCTION SEAT UPHOLSTERY KIT FOR A 1970 GTO/LEMANS HARDTOP IN BLACK. THIS KIT WAS MANUFACTURED BY ICP CROWN IND. USING REAL WOVEN "COMFORTWEAVE" INSERTS IN THE SEAT CENTERS JUST LIKE ORIGINAL GM SEATS.

REAL COMFORTWEAVE MATERIAL WAS DISCONTINUED AND THE CURRENTLY PRODUCED SEAT KITS, FROM ALL MAJOR SUPPLIERS, ARE USING A SIMULATED COMFORTWEAVE WHICH IS NOT BREATHABLE AND DOESN'T HAVE THE STRETCH AND FEEL AS ORIGINAL MATERIAL. MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT DOESN'T LOOK THE SAME."

IF YOU HAVE A FIRST CLASS '70 GTO AND NEED SEATS, THIS KIT PROVIDES YOU WITH A CORRECT INTERIOR OPTION. DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY.[/QUOTE]

Did not know Crown was still in business. I have much experience with these seat covers, not with Crown but the original comfortweave material. The comfortweave used in the Ebay add looks real but hard to judge looking at pictures, I would question the rest of the vinyl material quality used in these covers. I purchased some supposedly real comfortweave covers from the parts place several years ago made by PUI. The comfortweave was not the real deal but possibly a later version with slightly wider weave plus the rest of the material quality was cheap. Recently I found some real comfortweave and sent to Legendary Auto interiors to have them sew them up for me. Very happy with the Legendary quality. Have seen the Crown covers on various GTO's but not 70's and they look terrible, pleated areas look flat and nothing close to original. I also believe PUI is poor quality but they may have improved now that Legendary is giving them competition. I had a 69 that I used PUI on and the heat pressed areas on the back seat all broke loose giving the seat a flat look.
