Default pictures of my new trunk install

just got done tack welding, tomorrow im going to seam weld everything

then im going to use primer/sealer. rubber undercoating and a few cans of that splatter paint on it, after i epoxy the seams of course, it should look flawless tomorrow

thanks, it went pretty easy, the pictures that i posted were taken on day 2, im 16 hours into the job now, getting ready to go back out now and do the seams,grind,fill and paint, i should be done completely today. i hope, ill post more pictures tonight.

Is the trunk floor supposed to be spot welded to the braces like it is on 68-72s? Seems like it would be.

i bent the edge and seam welded both end parts to the braces, then seam welded the floor seams, you will never get that floor out without cutting everything out. its very strong! lol

im high as sh!t from spraying the rubber undercoating and primer lol

im busting ass over here, got it all seam welded and primed/undercoated, now im getting ready to do a jet black base coat, then the splatter paint, should be done in 2-3more hours

Sandmanjoe, what did you cover the weld seams with to start with? I am in the same procedure with my 65. Your looks great!

POR15 in a tube epoxy,,, then bondo with fiber hair and toped it off with classic bondo, primer sealer, rubber under coating, jet black base, splatter paint

You should have used a few tubes of self leveling seal sealer on the wheels wells to trunk pan, that stuff is amazing, fills the smallest pin hole. If you haven't done anything with the underside of the trunk pan, I would definitely use some 3M Ultra Pro seam sealer on all the weld spots or any place two parts meet. Might as well make all that hard work last.

thanks guys,,,,i timed myself on this job, from the old trunk and brace removal to paint took less then 16 hours over a 3day period, the pictures dont do it Justice, its a seamless/flawless job, some of the fastest and best work i have done. going to start on the 1/4 panels soon as i get all my parts.
