The hose should go inboard towards the turning axis then up to the hardline if possible. |

He is talking about the brake hose on the drivers side. The way it is now it looks like it will rub on the tire.....

If memory serves me, I checked the fitment with the wheels and tires. They did not come close, but ya know what? I am going to check things again and I thank both of you for noticing and making mention....

Kurt,
Went back and reviewed the posts from paint to clear coat but I missed if the clear was ever( or even needed to be) buffed. Was that done or needed? |

WC, After it was "done", we talked about what needed to happen now. It needed De Nibbed and from there I had 2 choices... 1....De Nib the entire car....color sand....buff.....200 hrs 2...De Nib the entire car....hand sand with 1000 grit...clean and prep....Spray one coat of Blu.....3 coats of clear.....12-14 hrs.... I chose the latter....She is now Done....If I want, I can buff it myself...

Lovin' the Blu!
Friday and Yesterday paid big dividends working in the shop with "Blu"....
Just like a finish carpenter, I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is where one has to take his or her time, mask off the paint, slow down and take your time.... I have the stainless trim on everything but the rear glass. Chrome is on the fenders, quarters, mirrors, door handles. Installed the stainless and the "350" on the rockers as well... Need to finish the rear glass by filling the gap around it with seam sealer as to not let water settle at the bottom next to the rear deck filler. Having done the body work on this car, I can see now where and how these cars rusted....If I can figure this out, it can not be rocket science!...

Spent the day in the shop. Repainted the inner fender wells semi gloss black. While they dried, I took the day and cleaned all the sand residue along with some over spray from the front end components and the engine. After 3-4 hours, she is looking pretty good once again....
Also found a "Cold Leak" on one of the heater hoses...time is right to get that fixed....

Blessed!
WOW! I am so blessed by many on this site!...
10,000 visits watching and commenting on "Blu BiYu" and her restoration... We are now on the downhill slide...with only a few more additions to her. Clark Gick is now finishing up her header, front and rear valances, and her 1971 LeMans Wing.... Getting these installed along with both new bumpers and Oh Yes...I forgot...I ordered a dual snorkel air cleaner and all the goodies to go along with a complete look under the hood.... Then and only then comes the Wheels & Tires...... Then folks it not only "Admiration Time", but "Miller Time" as well.....

After taking the time to De Nib the trunk and the wing, I took yesterday to completely De Nib the rest of the car. I then sanded her with both 1000 and 1500 to a "dull shine". Next I am going to apply that Magic Stuff to make her beautiful once again...and hopefully outshine her predecessor...That should take some time to accomplish.... 💙💙😎💙💙
