Alternate engine 1987 (maybe 1988) TA
Some History: A previous Non Pontiac Engine 1987/1988 Pontiac Trans Am Bonneville Record Holder.
Since the forum now allows an Alternate engine in the Forums I thought I would post a bit of history on the 1987/1988 Pontiac Trans Am that ran in 2001 at Bonneville (as a gasoline powered "STREET CAR"as well as a link. Here is another article, Car and Driver magazine, when Banks ran on Mrs Harcutt's driveway near Barstow, Ca. Tom V. ps Banks held the street car record for over 10 years.

I remember reading about this car as a kid. If I not mistaken that body style is one of if not the most aerodynamic produced at the time
|

Nothing wrong with a big block Chevy, especially in a car that came with a small block Chevy anyway.
Those GTAs are definitely a good platform to build race cars off of.
