Default 1970 gto front valance bracket

Hallo,
I am trying to reassemble the front of my GTO. I am a bit in doubt about the front valance mounts, now I have them mounted like this and it seems correct to me. Does anyone have detailed photos of this area and the central part?
The correct color is this or is painted with the car color?
Thanks

Roby

The brackets look like they are installed properly. Certain color 70 GTOs got the endura nubs blacked out from the factory, especially polar white. Just the middle 4 bumps that hang down in the valance opening. That, combined with the brackets painted black will make it clean.

Attached a pic here of a polar white Judge, it appears all 8 were done and quite possibly it was found this way and restored how it was found. Usually, its just the middle 4, not the 2 under the headlights.

This is the alignment of my 70 GTO at valence to bumper. It took alot of adjusting to get the gaps tighter than where yours are.

Where did you get those silver mounting brackets? I bought a repro set from thepartsplace and they are very thin and weak. Pretty much worthless.

Original or not, this is a very nice idea!

It's on my bucket list to go back and try to fit the front lower valance better, it take work to get them to look 'right' or 'good'.
