Update photos above, trunk has been sprayed with bedliner, car will be going into the spray booth for paint in 2 weeks. We decided to do a judge clone as far as paint, decals and rear spoiler , and hood tach, car is going to be orbit orange.

I will post up some more progress photos as I get closer to paint time.

Did you do the bed liner spray yourself? It looks great.

Yes, it's SPI liner, it cost $154.00 for a gallon, application gun is $43.00 . I used one gallon.

SPI epoxy primer was sprayed before liner application, thanks .

Great work so far. I'm in the middle of doing my first restoration ever on a 70 GTO. Should be going back on the frame in a week or two. Then I have to get everything straight and lined up so I can replace my quarter panels... kind of intimidated by that job but hopefully it won't be too bad. If you're interested my build thread is here. http://www.gtoforum.com/f83/first-re...970-gto-40319/. I know it's the other forum but I didn't know about this forum when I started. I'll be following your progress!!

Here are a few more photos from the work I got done this weekend, was able to get the inner doors and jambs painted, got the hood and endura in a couple good coats of epoxy. I did block the hood out one time just to get a good idea how my bodywork looked considering the hood was a beat up rusted piece of crap lol.
I told the owner I would have more time in this hood than what a new one would cost but he wanted the original, I can understand it to a certain extent but money wise new would have been better, it's cool to use original stuff when you can I guess, just a ton of work.
This coming weekend I hope to have the car in a few more coats of epoxy primer and blocked out at least once. The following weekend will be 2K primer then hopefully shot some color. I may shoot the car disassembled , fenders, hood, valence panels and nose. I'm leaving the doors on since the jambs are painted, way too heavy to put on a freshly painted car, I put them on by myself so ask me how I. Know lol.

Anyway , until next weekend.

Ps. This color is gorgeous in person, pics never do it justice for some reason. I knew what it looked like in person but the owner did not really care for it too much but I finally convinced him it was the way to go, I hope he likes it when it's done. Takes quite a bit to get this color to cover, I got 2 gallons so we should be fine, ppg deltron 2000. I wanted white epoxy and 2k primer but they did not have any.

A quick tech tip for anyone installing doors without a door installer, cut up a paint stick and tape it really well in the rocker part of the door jamb, make sure the door striker is installed, simply place the door on top of the paint sticks and gently latch the door shut, you can leave the striker loose so it self locates the striker somewhat when you close the door. Hold the door in place and tighten the bolts, should get you in the ballpark . A paint stick seems to be almost perfect for the bottom door gap.

I sprayed a few more coats of epoxy today and blocked out the front fenders, front and rear valences ,hood and spoiler .l also did the trunk lid. Tomorrow I plan on blocking everything again the spraying everything with 2k primer. Next weekend hopefully be laying down some orbit orange. Hope to get the body in one more coat of epoxy, block it then finish it off with 2k.

Here are some pictures of what I did today. Did a few little things like deleting front bumper Jack holes and I also deleted that ugly bolt in the center of the valence,it has a stud welded in its place so it can still be bolted up properly.
