Hoh - leee Sh!t

These ARG guys sound like a class act.

They even PHS'd the car.
Wonder if they procured a title behind Dans's back ?

Or was the title and PHS in the glovebox ?
Hope all goes in your favor Dan.
Jump on it fast man

Yes, please do call him, and thank you! I would hate for Greg (or anyone) to be taken as well, and I'm sure he would not want to be involved with any litigation.

carcrazie, as has already been stated, file a police report. Nothing good is going to come out of this scenario. A few years ago a gentleman in this area had his SD455 TA "sold" under similar circumstances. He got it back after about $4000 in legal fees and a whole bunch of grief.

Thanks for all the advice (I'll take as must as I can get.) We will certainly talk to law enforcement. (An unfortunate necessity.)

X2.
If possible an unannounced visit to the shop with a Sheriff escort may be a good thing at this point.
I'm not sure how VA's laws are but in NC a shop can file a lien on a car for unpaid bills & get a title for it in a short time.

Truth.
30 days delinquite they file papers. (could alter dates tho)
30 days later (approx) they get a title.

Maybe it was just a scam to get some quick "deposit" money from a motivated buyer.

Possibly a good point, however... Has always been my plan and would love the opportunity to pay the man for the work. He has done very good work for me in the past without ever any issues. I know times can be tough, but it would have been nice if he just picked up the phone and returned my calls...

didn't seem to bother him TOO much! He sounded pretty happy when he was talking to me. Always two sides to any story...isn't there? Write this one off to "lessons learned"! Take care. Ron

Really sad....it also shows why the hobby has been run down so much too.... some people just dont have a problem making a quick buck... off another persons missfortune.

It doesnt surprise me though after reading the thread.
