Miss this one too - plain and simple, just a great cruiser!

Mine is a driver. I don't care what kind of weather it is they drove these cars year round for their entire life. A little rust can be fixed and is temporary the memory of driving it daily is priceless. Now I'm not dumb about it. Obviously I have other transportation when I feel the roads are too bad. There is just something relaxing about cruising with the warm heater kicking it out listening to some good music mixed with that distinct Pontiac rumbling exhaust note singing through the quiet winter air for miles around!
(Mines actually an early 72 but I just felt like sharing)

Awesome pics! Love the empty streets and street lights reflecting off that awesome car and the exhaust vapor to give it the full effect of the cold night. Bet that heater was nice and toasty - these cars do have great heaters don't they?

Thanks! I was downtown close to midnight feb 3rd. temp was well below freezing. Heater was so hot on low I had to open the vents a little. The empty courthouse square seemed like a good photo op. I only had my cell on me. Coolest thing was I was the only one out and I could hear every exhaust note echo throughout the whole downtown square. driving by the little old shops looking at the reflections in the windows thinking how privileged I am to be able to drive such a machine. Its just a plain old Lemans but Id take it over any sticky gas pedal, no brakes Prius any day. Cars of yesterday just have that style that is timeless. Basic, simple, reliable, durable, sporty, and best of all affordable. 25k gets you a practically new 70 GTO. OR 25k gets you a new camry. And in 10 more yrs whats the value of that camry to a 70 GTO?

right on! i was just thinking i should make my orange GTO my almost daily driver, and be a kid again...
i remember being 19 yrs old; driving my '69 cougar xr7 everywhere. that was awesome; i loved that car and i will buy another someday.
it was my daily driver, only car i'd ever crashed tho...
theres a 69 xr7 just like mine, for sale, 3 houses down from me... but the price is too high.

anybody got top up GTO/ lemans convertible pics? 70 -72 i just love that look. nobody takes pics when the top is up?
