Here is a 72 LEMANS GT stored since 80/81 after a "resto" was started here in NC.
I bought for a racer project but ran the PHS and it has a special paint code of 6 when I talked to PHS folks. Robbins Egg Blue may have been Carolina Blue to some NC residents who bought it. I couldnt bring myself to do anything with it far as mods go. Its a #s car and solid as they come. Came with rechromed parts still in wrappers. Look at the deck lid, the best Ive seen. 350, 3 speed. I may sell it and some others soon. Probably never get to them all.

I had a Lucern Blue w/white interior Lemans GT a long time ago. How long ago? I was able to get 2 quarter panels and a Judge spoiler from GM. I was renting a garage to do the repair work. The neighbors complained of the noise I was making and I was told to leave. I had to sell it, I had nowhere to go with it. I still miss that car.

I have had neighbors that complained of my compressor running at 2pm on a Saturday. I told them they should be glad it was not my mower running that is even louder. I would actually start the mower at times and left it run through a tank of gas for the heck of it. Glad I live in the country now with no one complaining of noise.

Jeff, how do you know the special paint was robin's egg blue? That's an interesting car. Would like to see the PHS.

JIM called me when I ran the PHS and said he hadnt seen a number "6" paint code (that high) while at Pontiac, and wanted to know the details of the color.
When I told him, he mentioned seeing Chevys having this same shade, and I happened to have a cousin who owned a 69 Chevelle SS in the same color, in NC. Cousin always said it was special paint from factory.

JM mentioned this color in conversation: "like a Robbins Egg Blue", but I havent found any other info on the color, so not sure if this is really the color name.

Another member posted about the COLORADO blue dealer cars.
I was thinking this might have been a Carolina (UNC) promo and closest shade they could get, but never found anything.

Another Member posted (different thread) about a COLORADO dealer who had some of the same color in a promo, but I havent looked for info.

There was the SKYBIRD on the Firebird Esprit that looks very close in color, and here is one on ebay, a 78:

someone else also mentioned thinking 70 GT-37 were only built in Pontiac. That is incorrect. They were built at a lot of different plants. Mine was built in Freemont. The cardinal red 70 that someone posted that was at POCI was also the car in Hemmings. It is owned by Steve Bothwell. It's also a Freemont car

Chris, Hey, next year we will have to do some qualifying runs together. I would like to see them lined up and of course me leading the way.

yes, we will.
but I'll let a cat out of the bag now, there will be a new motor in the car for Sept. The VIN matching block is getting stored.

We could line up at Martin in June if you are going. I'll only have the front end rebuilt, conversion to manual steering and a good exhaust system on the car compared to how it was at Stanton last year.

This car belongs to a guy that I havent talked to in a long time. The story of the car is this:

His young son was killed in a car crash and was in the middle of restoring this car. After his untimely death (17 years old), his parents decided to finish the resto in his honor. The end result is an amazing 71 GT37 that will surprise you on the track. I have pics of this car doing some wild burnouts. I haven't seen Joe in a while but I know they will never sell the car. The sentimental value is huge.

That's a pic from Iceland.. 30+ years old. I don't know if this car is still around today, I could do some research on it. What is the diff. between a t37 and a gt37? I'm a noob when it comes to these cars.

Maybe the only GT-37 in Iceland? The GT-37 was an option to the base T-37. You added a 350 V8, 3 speed trans, hood pins, stripes, dual exhaust, rally II's when you when you bought the GT-37 option.

That has to be one of the few in the are Paul. Kinda of a unique GT with a front bumper guard. My guess is that is no 350 in that car

Just to set it technically straight, so we don't get incorrect rumors started, the GT package in '71 was allowed on any T-37 HT with any V8. 350 through 455HO. Ralley II's were dechromed and the dual exhaust were GTO type with GTO tips in the back through the valance panel. Also GT badging was included. All the stuff mentioned above was also included.

One had to FIRST order the V8 then the GT package could be added. Hardtop only.

Here are a few from a MN junkyard a few years ago. It was a '72 GT, 400 AT, bucket car, original engine/trans/rear. I went back the next spring and it had been sold.
