electrical confusion 70 GTO
I'm trying to sort out all the various electrical harnesses on this 1970 Judge convertible, specifically how the power top, flow through ventilation, windows, door locks and seat back releases all get their power.
It seems that the power seat backs get power from the power door lock harness. The power door lock harness and the power window harness both plug into an accessory harness (see attachment 1). The power top harness piggy backs into the power flow through ventilation harness and then both piggy back into the end of the accessory harness and then the whole mess plugs into the top accessory slot on the fuse box. Can this be right? I can't make all the connectors attach to the fuse box in any other way. Won't this overload that one slot? |

If you have the service manual look in section 12-15/12-16 or so.

Thanks, John.
The WSM shows all the power accessories piggy-backed onto the top accessory connection with the exception of the power flow through ventilation that is shows attaches to the top right fuse? How does this connector attach in that area? |

The ones on the top use a circuit breaker I think, not sure. I added a couple diagrams for the circuits, but PY make them almost unreadable.

Your pic of the red connector is the one that goes to the middle between the fuses looks like.
In the other pic, to the left of the middle connector, it has the circuit breaker looks like. Not sure how it hooks up though, should be a connector at the top of the fuse box.

I just noticed in the bottom left hand corner of the WSM Fig 12-4 above it states "Accessory Power Connector Above Fuse Block" and it lists 7 options connected there including the Power Flow Ventilation. Is there another point of connection above the fuse block? Did I miss something?

On my 69 GTO convertible the power wire goes through the firewall and connects to the horn relay. This gives it a constant power source so the top can be operated without the car running or even having the key power on.
